PA-12 Filament

Strong, semi-flexible and high wear resistant nylon filament
Polyamide-12, abbreviated PA-12 filament is a nylon filament that is popular in the plastics industry. It is known for its strong and durable properties and is suitable for printing objects that are subject to heavy strain, such as high temperatures. Therefore, it can be compared to ABS filament, only PA-12 is a lot more flexible.

Applications

PA-12 filament is excellent material for 3D printing functional and technical parts. This is because the thin layers are flexible, the material has a high layer adhesion and because the friction coefficient is low. In addition, the material has a high melting point. Nylon is much less brittle than ABS and PLA filaments.

The advantages of PA-12 filament

  • Strong and flexible
  • High wear, tear and scratch resistance
  • Good resistance to chemicals

Filament Dryer for PA-12

PA Carbon is nylon based filament like PA-12. So, it is made using nylon and will absorb more moisture than other filaments when left exposed to the environment. Excessive moisture will result in popping at the nozzle (water boiling off, a little steam) and excessive drooling and nozzle build-up. Fortunately, the dddrop rapid one has a built-in filament dryer that ensures the filament remains of the right quality.
